The KKCS Summer Program provides plenty of fun and learning opportunities for children aged 5 through 14, as well as special standardized-test preparation classes for aspiring high-school students. Participants are grouped according to their grades in public school in the coming September. Our homeroom groups are small, and adult supervision is much beyond state requirement.
We offer academic classes in English, Math, Chinese, Science, and Social Studies. These classes will be hands-on and interactive; they will parallel but not duplicate class content in the public school. All classes will be theme-based and each 4-week session will conclude with student presentations of their long-term team projects. In addition to classes and projects, students will be engaged in all categories of activities offered: (1) performing arts, (2) studio arts, (3) physical fitness, (4) critical thinking and creative technology. Weekly educational field trips include out-of-Boston sites; transportation to and from these sites are by pre-arranged tour busses. Some of our field trips have included Peabody Essex Museum, Plimoth Plantation, Hammond Castle, Tea Museum, Freedom Trail, Museum of Fine Arts, MIT Museum, Drumlin Farm, New England Aquarium, and Walden Pond.
