Double Ten

On the festive occasion of Double Ten on Oct. 7, Kwong Kow Chinese School was honored with the gift of two ceremonial lions from the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office (TECO). The Eye Dotting Ceremony, also known as the Awakening Ceremony which signifies the lions’ awakening, took place at 10:15 am. A joint collaboration between Wah Lum Kung Fu Academy and Nam Pai Kung Fu Academy helped with directing and performing in the ceremony, and Scott Lai, Director-General of TECO, himself and his wife personally dotted the lions. Shortly after the ceremony, KKCS, accompanied by the newly awoken lions and Nam Pai performing in them, joined the parade from Chinatown to City Hall along with other organizations from the Chinatown community and observed the Flag Raising Ceremony.

We thank everyone for joining us on such a festive occasion!
